πŸ—οΈ 🚒 πŸš€ Trinity Models, LangSmith Agent Builder, and 2026 looking bright!

Hey Practitioners,

This is the last edition of the LLM Edge for 2025! We're off for our annual vacation from Christmas to New Year as a company πŸŽ„πŸŽ†! But first, for our final YouTube event, we're covering DSPy tomorrow!

In case you missed it, we covered LangSmith's chat-style Agent Builder and learned about Arcee's Trinity Models with their CTO over the past few weeks. Fresh off learning about one new open-model family of LLMs, The Wiz taught us about Nemotron 3 this week.

As we prepare for 2026, we're seeing more staff, students, clients, and community members achieve their goals - in production environments - than ever before. Stay tuned, because we can't wait to tell you more of their stories, from individuals to teams and from startups and solo consultancies to enterprises.

🌐 A big thanks to the entire AI Makerspace community for supporting our journey and letting us support theirs!

LIVE TOMORROW!

Prompt Optimization with DSPy

Join us live tomorrow at 1:00 PM ET for our last YouTube live event of the year! We'll catch you up to speed on Prompt Optimization heading into 2026, and we'll deep-dive the latest on DPSy from the year of agents - from programming to evaluation to optimization - since we last covered the tool in detail in 2024. We will also dig into the GEPA (Genetic-Pareto) optimizer and how it works. See you there!

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT!

LangSmith Agent Builder

The newest agent builder doesn't even use a visual graph approach. It uses straight-up chat! We took a look at LangSmith's latest public release, and compared it to the recent OpenAI Agent Builder we covered just a few months ago. Is it the future of Agent Engineering? Maybe not quite yet...

Trinity Foundation Models

During the livestream with Lucas, CTO and Head of Research at Arcee (and author of The Trinity Manifesto), we broke down the long-term product vision of the field that makes it important to own the entire training pipeline, as well as the features, architecture, and unique capabilities of the new Trinity models.

The AI Engineering Bootcamp v0.9

The AI Engineering Bootcamp, Cohort 9, kicks off January 13 and runs through March 19! We've expanded our coverage of agent engineering for the new year. All enrollees get free access to The AI Engineer Onramp, Cohort 2 materials (a $500 value!). Perfect for individuals and small teams!

To keep learning, check out the Awesome AIM Index, YouTube, or our open-source courses, including LLM Foundations, LLM Engineering, and LLM Ops.

Keep building πŸ—οΈ shipping 🚒 and sharing πŸš€, and we'll do the same!

Cheers,

Dr. Greg, The Wiz, Jacops, Laura The Legend, and all of the AI Makerspace staff, ambassadors, and volunteers we couldn't run our courses and community without!
