Real Stakes and What Makes the FDE Certification Different 🏗️

Hey Reader,

Many engineers with our Build. Ship. Share. mindset learned by building side projects that never left their laptops.

The focus on Forward-Deployed Engineers means you will learn it differently. We'll work with you on shipping something timely, under the pressure and stakes of your company.

Since most decisions start with curriculum and what's possible, I want to share what’s new in the v1.1 curriculum, including:

  • Confirming the MVP to build at your job
  • Setting up your environment
  • Bringing and using your unique or approved AI tools
  • Strengthening your navigational skills
  • And current engineering practices we’ve always covered

The AI FDE Certification begins soon. We go live twice a week this fall. Join us, build your dream, or invite a peer to become an internal AI champion with you.

Not Ready for the Cohort?

Technical lessons from AI Makerspace will resume soon, too. We’ll be sharing segments from the FDE Certification lessons on our YouTube channel, and you can dig into FDE Field Notes for more thinking on the role, the skills and who else it takes to reach production AI at scale.

You don’t have to enroll to start learning. But if you’re ready to take a problem from your day job, build it toward production with a community, and make a bigger impact, Cohort 11 (v1.1) is where we’ll do it together.

Our Instructors

Cohort 11 (v 1.1) will be taught by a roster of enterprise senior software engineers and thought leaders who keep giving back:

Myself, Dr. Greg Loughnane, Ph.D., plus, Matthew Sharp
Tyler Laughlin on the coding portions, and my sub scheduled to make a few appearances is Salesforce SVP, Technology- Phil Mui!

It will be challenging, and I look forward to seeing the impact that a smaller group of students make in their companies and their careers over the next 6-18 months.

We are still only in the beginning of the organizational changes coming to every industry. There's never been a better time to get in or stay ahead of the game.

Cheers,

Dr. Greg Loughnane, Ph.D.
